The basic dental implant training program is designed for dentists of all specialties who have limited or no experience with dental implants. Attendees will learn the theoretical basics and practical procedures for simple, single implant placement and restoration. By taking the course, one can expand the knowledge further towards advanced implantology.

  • Diagnosis
    1. Medical considerations in dental implant patients.
    2. Imaging in oral Implantology
    3. Bone density classification & its clinical Implications.
  • Pre Surgical Prosthodontics & treatment Planning.
    1. Prosthetic Options in Implant Dentistry & Biomechanics.
    2. Treatment Planning for Single tooth implant.
    3. Treatment Planning for Multiple Missing Teeth.
    4. Treatment Planning for Edentulous Patient.
  • Basic Implant Surgery
    1. Infection control Sterilisation Protocol & operating Room Protocol
    2. Hands on dummy models with dummy Implants.
    3. Stage I Implant Surgery.
    4. Evaluation of Osseointegration and Stage II Implant Surgery.
  • Implant Prosthodontics
    1. Provisionalization
    2. Impression Procedures in Implant Dentistry.
    3. Abutments: Cement Retained Verses Screw Retained Prosthesis.
    4. CAD CAM Based Prosthetics and Precision Attachments in Implant dentistry.
    5. Evaluation of laboratory Work and Cementation considerations.
  • Occlusal consideratons & Loading protocols
    1. Occlusion in Dental Implant restorations and prosthesis.

OBJECTIVES

Upon successful completion participants will be able to: 

  • Determine clinical scenarios and appropriate candidates for single dental implant treatment. 
  • Develop a dental implant treatment plan.
  • Select and place the optimal dental implant type for the surgical site.
  • Take impressions for single-tooth prostheses. 
  • Design the dental implant retained prostheses.

DURATION

The course is of 6 months consisting of 4 modules, each module consisting of 3 days.

 

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE

On successful completion of this course the participant will be awarded with a certificate of "Training in Basic Implantology" from "Sri Sai College of Dental Surgery".
