The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at SSCDS focusses on the diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and the techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function. possible. Endodontics, as a branch of dentistry, involves treating insides of the tooth and root by performing root canal treatment to remove infection which has penetrated deep into the tooth and restore it to function. It is also associated with surgical procedures to relieve pain and elimination of infection at the root end of the teeth.

The department makes available, advanced equipment like operating microscope, microsurgical instruments, newest rotary systems and ultrasonic endodontic tips and latest materials like Calamus obturating system, Gutta flow obturation, and filling materials like MTA etc which provide immense learning opportunity to trainees.
