What is Pedodontics?

Pedodontics or paediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry that deals with diagnosis and treatment of children’s teeth.
Pedodontist is a dentist who specializes in child dental care.
Unlike adults, kids require different level of behavioural guidance and that is why pedodontics specialists are important for managing kids.
Dept of Pedodontics, SSCDS Dental Clinics has taken the lead in use of conscious sedation for kids and also looks after dental needs of children of some nearby adopted schools. We have an exclusive department, facilities and specialists dedicated to oral care only for kids.

Treatment options

Preventive treatments

This involves procedures like cleaning, pit and fissure sealants, fluorides, diet counselling and risk assessment for kids to avoid major dental problems.

Interceptive treatments

This involves treatments in co-ordination with orthodontist to intercept future malpositioning, future chances of dental emergencies and future loss of teeth.

Restorative and surgical treatments

This involves therapeutic measures when a problem has already occurred such as treatments for cavities like fillings, pulpectomy, stainless steel crowns, extractions or treatment of paediatric dental emergencies.
